Several nurses from Stephens Memorial Hospital spent some time reading to area daycares in March. Nurses visited Community Childcare Center, the Growing Place, the Child Health Center and OT to Grow. They read a health care related book, talked with the children about visits to the doctor and the hospital and asked that the children draw a picture about the story and the visit. The children’s drawings, pictured, are being displayed on a bulletin board in the hospital. The visits were part of the Nursing Community Outreach Council’s mission to support and promote health in the Western Maine Community.
