Indoor sale

NEW GLOUCESTER — Sabbathday Lake Grange 365 will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22. The Grange will sell cutlery, homemade goodies and white elephant items. The hall is located on Sabbathday Road, across from the lake.

Beauty pageant

GREENE — A “Womanless Beauty Pageant” will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Androscoggin Grange 8, 99 Main St.

The men will compete in evening gown, talent, sportswear and interview portions of the pageant. Contestants include Tony Brewer, Tobie Bubier, AJ Carmichael, Dick Casper, Peter Jolicoeur, Mike Mowry and Nate White.

Fair fundraiser

MONMOUTH — The Friends Of Cumston Library will sponsor a “May Faire” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Cumston Hall.

Available for sale at the event will be annuals and perennials, lobster rolls, hot dogs and hamburgers. There will be a bake sale, used book sale, a bee exhibit and a stained glass quilt raffle. Those attending may register for a one-mile road race at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a free children’s quarter-mile walk at 10 a.m.

Members of the Monmouth Youth Theater will read to children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Monmouth Museum will sell bird houses and plants will be available from the H.L. Cottrell School greenhouse. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cumston Hall landscaping projects.

Clothing distribution

LEWISTON — The Root Cellar will hold a free clothing distribution on Monday, May 24, at the Root Cellar’s 89 Birch St. location in the Community Center, Pierce Street entrance. Clothing will be distributed from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Root Cellar is still seeking donations of clothing, and shoes for males and females of all ages (infant to adult) and sizes. To donate, contact the Root Cellar at 782-3659.
