LISBON — Frank Angelico belted an RBI single in the seventh inning with the bases-loaded and two outs to lift Lisbon to a 3-2 victory over Hall-Dale in an MVC baseball game Wednesday.

Angelico also tied the contest for Lisbon (12-3) in the sixth when he drove in Marus Bubar. Bubar picked up the mound win after giving up just two hits in the first six innings.

Hall-Dale (7-6) was paced by Ryan Leach with two hits, highlighted by a two-run homer in the third inning. Leach also took the loss after pitching a complete game.

Telstar 7, Carrabec 3

BETHEL— Dan Whitney hurled six innings of solid baseball and drew adequate run support as Telstar hustled to a 7-3 victory over Carrabec in a late-season MVC matchup Wednesday.

Whitney and Devin Vail led the Rebels (8-5) with two hits apiece.

Zach Browne led the Cobras (1-13) with three hits and one RBI, while Nick McCarthy was tagged with the loss.

Edward Little 9, Morse 1

BATH — Corey Molholland fired a two-hitter and struck out 11 to lead Edward Little to a 9-1 triumph over Morse in a KVAC baseball game.

Kenzie Souders and Mat Gordon led the offense by each hitting a triple. Souders and Luke Farrago had a game-high three hits apiece, while Gordon and Ryan Arnold had two apiece. Arnold drove in three runs, while Souders and Farrago had two RBIs each for the Red Eddies (7-7).

Jay Cavanagh had a double for the Shipbuilders (0-14).

Lewiston 7, Mt. Ararat 3

TOPSHAM — Mekae Hyde set the tone with a three-run home run in the first inning to lead Lewiston to a 7-3 victory over Mt. Ararat.

The Blue Devils (9-5) saw its four-run lead slashed to 4-3 in the third, but added one in the fourth on Ben Wigant’s solo homer, before sealing the victory with two runs in the seventh on consecutive hits by Joe Sullivan, Scott Ouellette and Jeff Keene.

Keene had two hits and pitched the first four innings for the victory. Corbin Hyde tossed the final three innings for the save.

Matt Harris had three hits for Mt. Ararat (7-7).

Mountain Valley 7, Mt. Abram 3

RUMFORD — Gino Salgado and Izaak Mills belted RBI doubles in the fifth inning to lift Mountain Valley to a 7-3 victory over Mt. Abram.

Cam Kaubris led the Falcons (8-5) with three hits and two RBIs, while Mills finished with two. Derek Volkernick worked the first five innings for Mountain Valley and picked up the win.

Dylan Tisor led the Roadrunners (9-4) with a pair of hits, while Aaron McGinnis suffered the loss.

St. Dom’s 12, Georges Valley 2

AUBURN — Alex Parker plated the game-winning run as St. Dom’s invoked the 10-run rule with a 12-2 triumph over Georges Valley in MVC baseball action.

The Saints (12-2) came out quick, scoring five runs in the first inning. Kurt Johnson singled in two runs and Chris Bryant, the pitcher, doubled in a pair of runs in the frame.

The Buccaneers (6-7) were a bit sluggish, scoring a single run in each of the first two innings. The catcher, Dylan Maloney, had a pair of hits, including a run-scoring double.

Chris Bryant performed well on the mound, striking out six and walking no one in five innings of work.

Oxford Hills 11, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK — Pitcher D.J. Croy tossed a three-hitter to earn the mound win as Oxford Hills cruised to an 11-1 victory over Brunswick in KVAC baseball action Wednesday.

Croy was touched for all three hits in the third inning. Anthony Viola and Jack Faherty hit back-to-back doubles for the Dragons (6-8). Faherty picked up an RBI as Viola scored the only Brunswick run.

The Vikings (12-2) were in good form on defense with three double plays.

Cody Hadley contributed three hits and three RBIs for the Vikings. Brandon Campbell invoked the 10-run rule with a two-run double in the sixth inning for Oxford Hills.

Buckfield, Forest Hills splits

BUCKFIELD — The Buckfield baseball squad finished up the 2010 season Wednesday by splitting a doubleheader with Forest Hills.

The Bucks (3-10) won the opener 3-1, before losing the nightcap by a score of 16-7.

Trevor Averill was the star of Game 1, driving in runs in the second and fourth frames to seal the win. Isaac Smith had an impressive 19 strikeouts while earning the mound win. Evan Worcester led Forest Hills with an RBI double.

In the nightcap, Worcester led a group of five players with multiple hits as Forest Hills came alive at the lpate. Spencer Conrad pounded out five hits and drove in three runs, while Dylan McNally belted four hits. Plante scattered nine hits to record the win.

The Bucks received three hits and two RBIs from Austin Dooley in Game 2.
