FARMINGTON — Police are investigating a theft of a safe and an undisclosed amount of money that was taken from Pizza Hut between the hours of 10 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday, Farmington police officer Ted Neil said Monday.
It was not clear Monday morning whether one person or more were involved in forcefully entering the restaurant on Wilton Road, Neil said.
It was a fairly large safe.
Employees coming to work just before 7:30 a.m. Monday called 911 to report the burglary, he said.
Farmington police called in Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Chase and his tracking dog, Jack, he said.
The dog didn’t find anything at the scene, he said.
