DENISON, TEXAS — Robert W. Garey, 74, known as Yankee Bob, passed away quietly at his home on June 5.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie Garey; one sister, Judy Lumbard; two brothers, Donald Savage, Minot, and Harold Savage, Lewiston; sons, Ronnie Garey, Auburn, Michael Garey, Mechanic Falls, and Scott Garey, Minot; daughters, Brenda Longton, Lewiston, and Sherrie Cary of Denison, Texas; four stepdaughters, Laura Chevalier of Monmouth, Dorothy Wilbur, Sabattus, Barbara Chadburn, Sabattus, and Corinna Chevalier of Portland. Also, 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one on the way.
He was employed with Kawneer Company for 12 years, Contract Freighter Inc. for 11 years, and Choctaw Casino in Durant as a shuttle driver for three years and two months. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 231, in Pottsboro for 25 years.
Yankee Bob will have his funeral in Lewiston, beside his son, Shawn Garey, who passed away on Oct. 1, 2008. He would like to say farewell to his many friends in this beautiful part of the country. We would like to thank Victory Home Health and Hospice for the warmth and great care in his final hours.
