LEWISTON — Cecile W. Doustou, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her sister, nieces and nephews.

She was born in Fort Kent, on April 14, 1919, the daughter of Felix and Flavie (Saucier) Dumond. She married David Doustou on July 11, 1938. They were married for 56 years, until his passing on Dec. 27, 1994.

She lived most of her life in Fort Kent and Soldier Pond, until the floods of 2008, when she relocated to Lewiston to live with her sister. She was a member of the Fort Kent Senior Citizens, Ladies of Ste. Anne of Soldier Pond and later Fort Kent and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She did volunteer work in her community.

She is survived by one son, Herbert Doustou and his wife, Jean, of Plainville, Conn.; three grandchildren, Pamela Riskis of Deerfield, Fla., David Doustou of Ward, Mass. and Carrie Pelletier of Danielson, Conn.; four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson; one sister, Emily Ouellette of Lewiston; four sisters-in-law, Annette Lapointe and Mary Ann Albert of Connecticut, Maime Daigle of Millinocket and Adrienne Daigle of Fort Kent; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, David; four brothers, Hypolite, Edmond, Aurelle and Elbridge (Pat) Dumond; and four sisters, Maime Dubois, Lydie Pelletier, Hattie Roy and Clothilde Marie Theriault.

The family would like to thank the staff of Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and attention to her comfort during her illness.
