BRADENTON, FLA. — G. Frank Bly of California Street, Bradenton, Fla. and formerly of Freeport and Litchfield, died on June 6, at the Tidewell Hospice in West Bradenton, Fla., after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 8, 1924 in Lewiston, the son of George H. Bly and Florence Avery Bly. He was educated in Lewiston and Litchfield schools and also briefly in Vermont.
He was married for 25 years to Ezalee Audrey Gates. The couple made their home in Litchfield and had five children, during which time he was employed by Soule Glass and Paint Co. in Lewiston and Portland. After his wife’s death in 1968, Frank married the former Florris Johnston Ricker.
In addition to his wife, Florris, of Bradenton, Fla., he is survived by two sons, George E. Bly of Osprey, Fla. and James Bly of Freeport; three daughters, Susan Grover of Belgrade Lakes, Anne O’Mara of Ipswich, Mass. and Kathryn Roy of Freeport; two sisters, Elsie Durgin and Eleanor Leonard; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also a stepson, Rick Ricker, Litchfield; and three stepdaughters, Joycelyn Anderson of Baltimore, Md., Nancy Siegel, Belmont, N.H. and North Port, Fla., and Sharon Heavener, Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was predeceased by a brother, Newell; and two sisters, Christine Cribbin and Dorothy Dodge.
