Roy Hodsdon, and Officers Daniel Carrier and Brad Gallant of the Mexico Police Department, and the Mexico Police Department Explorers Club. Additionally, Dixfield police Chief Richard Pickett and Officer Dave Hodgson ran the torch through Dixfield.
Early Thursday morning, Rumford police Cpl. Douglas Maifeld, center, and Rumford and Mexico police officers and a Mexico Police Explorers Club member ran the Special Olympics Maine torch to Dixfield on Route 2 in Mexico. It was part of the statewide annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to the Summer Games at the University of Maine at Orono. It was Maifeld’s 23rd year doing the fundraising event.
Prior to hitting the road on a more than 6-mile run from Rumford to Dixfield during Thursday’s Special Olympics Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run, participants posed for a group photograph on upper Congress Street in Rumford.
