DIXFIELD — The Ludden Memorial Library will take part in the Maine State Library’s collaborative reading program theme this summer, “Make a Splash READ!”

The library will be decorated in the theme for the duration of the program, which begins on Tuesday, June 29 and runs through Tuesday, July 27.

Local businesses have donated coupons for free ice cream, meals, pizza and other items as reading incentives to help the children reach their reading goals each week. The children will keep track of their reading progress with stickers and reading charts. Make a Splash! T-shirts will be given when the children reach their reading goal for the first week, and the donated coupons for subsequent weeks of reading.

Programs and entertainment will be offered on a weekly basis. During the closing program on July 27, the reading awards will be given out along with prizes and rewards.

For more information, call the library at 562-8838.
