The Lewiston Public Works Department yesterday completed repairs to a cave-in near 700 Lisbon St.
A sewer service line broke at its point of connection with the main line, causing a portion of the road to cave in. The spot where the road buckled is just southerly of the railroad crossing near the Lewiston Division of Pepperell Manufacturing Co.

Phil J. Roy has filed a petition to rezone a portion of the Bleachery Hill area of Lewiston from Residential 1 to Apartment.
Both Roy’s attorney and the city planning staff believe the present zoning of this area is “inappropriate.” They even used the same word to describe it.
Now it’s up to the Planning Board to decide whether this land should be rezoned to an apartment designation.
