TURNER — Elizabeth Russell Shaw of Turner died June 15, peacefully and at home, at age 98.
She was born in Boston, in 1912. She worked at a settlement house in Philadelphia before teaching at the one-room school house at Howe’s Corner, Turner, where her mother before her had both taught and attended school. Later, she spent many years as a beloved elementary school teacher in Farmington and elsewhere.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Ruth Gibbert of Turner; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
