Blacksmith’s Association

WILTON — The Western Maine Blacksmith’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the Wilton Historical Society. There will be discussion on upcoming events and new projects.

FARMINGTON — The veterans’ advocate will not be at the Municipal Building on Tuesday, July 6.

STRONG — Members of the Strong Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Vance and Dorothy Hammond home on Main Street. A potluck supper will be followed by a brief business meeting.

Cheryl McCleery, the town’s librarian, will discuss some of the resources the library offers, as she is beginning the process of putting everything online. Carl Stinchfield, the society’s archivist, will present his Strong Historical Society Facebook project, including several hundred photographs of the town. The public is welcome.

Strawberry shortcakes

FARMINGTON — Homemade strawberry shortcakes will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, on the Pierce House lawn, Main Street.

The price will be $4, including fresh baked biscuit, strawberries and whipped cream. The proceeds will benefit the Old South First Congregational Church outreach, community service and youth programs.

Community breakfast

OQUOSSOC — The next ladies and community breakfast, with everyone invited to attend, will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Gingerbread House, Main Street.
