BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats will participate in two events on Saturday, July 17.

During Mollyockett Day in Bethel, they will have a booth on the common and a parade presence. House 91 candidate Chad McGrew will head up the parade effort and invites those interested in marching or riding to report to the parade lineup behind Casablanca by 9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. parade. McGrew may be contacted at [email protected].

The booth will be open starting at 8:30 a.m. Anyone interested in taking a shift may contact County Chair Cathy Newell at 875-2116.

The County Democrats will also participate in the parade at Lovell Old Home Days, with lineup at the Wicked Good Store at 9:30 a.m. Jimmy McHugh will head up the effort with his decorated vehicle.

The Democratic offices at 432 Hancock St. in Rumford and at 310 Main St. in Norway are in the process of being set up with grand openings to be planned for later in the month. The Oxford County Democrats are collaborating with the Maine Democrats on an intern program. Initial training was held on July 8 in Rumford and will be held soon in Norway.

College students home for the summer and older high school students who are interested in a structured intern experience supporting Democratic candidates should contact Newell at 875-2116 or [email protected] for information or to sign up.
