MECHANIC FALLS — Linda D. Foster, 61, of Oxford was taken from us unexpectedly on July 10. Not one person would disagree she was an angel here on earth.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, she was kind-hearted, patient, had a great sense of humor and almost always put others first. Even though her body was weak, her will was strong.
Nothing stopped her from spending an evening at bingo. And it was hard to tell her no when she wanted to take a trip to Foxwoods or Bangor to play the slots.
Linda was born to Louise Kimball Dustin and Leon Dustin on July 20, 1948. She attended Oxford schools while growing up in Otisfield. She married David Foster on July 24, 1965, and she graduated from Oxford High School in 1966. She worked for various factories over the years while raising her own family.
The past several years found her to be in ill health, but she battled hard numerous times to stay with us, even when doctors said it wasn’t probable. She will indeed be missed by anyone who’s ever met or known her.
She is survived by husband, David Foster of Oxford; daughter, Penelope and son-in-law, Richard Swasey, of Auburn; son, Wesley of Oxford; sisters, Lottie and Lorraine Dustin of Massachusetts, Lynn Dustin of Sabattus and Louann Dustin-Hunter of Topsham; sisters-in-law, Wilda Wallace and husband, Donald, of Tennessee, and Carlene Dustin of Norway; grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Colin, John, Charles Wesley, Donald, Kathleen and Patrick; as well as multiple nieces and nephews, and greats.
