RANGELEY — The Sidecar Heroes, a six-man a cappella ensemble, will perform Saturday, July 24, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. The group’s tight harmonies and rockin’ rhythms include rock, doo-wop, Motown and funk.
Based in southern Maine, Sidecar Heroes performs all over Maine and New Hampshire.
Mac Mullen, tenor, is a graduate of the University of Maine, where he was a member of The University Singers and the Maine Steiners.
Patrick McCarthy, tenor, has been with the group from the beginning. He has been music teacher at Westbrook High School for the past seven years.
Jason Paquette, tenor, has been singing a cappella for the past six years. He is chorus teacher at Morse High School in Bath.
Mark Rowe, baritone, has been singing a cappella since high school. After a brief stint studying computer science, he switched majors and studied classical voice at the University of Southern Maine.
D.B. (Dennis Boyd), bass, holds a bachelor’s of music degree from the University of Maine and is chorus director at Bonnie Eagle High School. He has sung bass with several a cappella groups, including Audiologic and the Maine Steiners.
Bill Ellis, percussion, has a music-education degree from University of Southern Maine. He has a varied career as a performer, recording studio engineer, theater manager, sound man and graphic designer. He is director of marketing at Point Sebago Resort in Casco.
