Brettuns reunion

CHESTERVILLE — A reunion will be held for the children who grew up together in the 1960s and 1970s in the town of Brettuns, also called Livermore. It will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 25, on the farm of Ray Buck, a childhood resident of Bowles Road.

Buck will provide hamburgers and those attending are asked to bring something to share on the buffet table. Attendees should also bring lawn chairs, drinks and if available, a shade tent or portable gazebo.

Texas hold ’em

NORWAY — The Harrison Lions Club with host a Texas hold ’em tournament on Sunday, July 25, at Charlies Entertainment Center, 246 Main St. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the game will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $55 entry fee and the tournament is limited to 100 players.

Church service

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner invites children in the surrounding communities to participate in Vacation Bible School from 8:45 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday, June 26 to 30. The theme for this year’s program is Journeys With God.

There will be Bible stories told in skit format, recreation, music, a Scripture Drill, crafts and snacks. The program is designed for children entering kindergarten to grade six. Older youth are welcome to come and help with the activities. A visiting youth group from Fredericksburg, Va., will also assist.

The week will conclude with an evening closing program and ice cream social on Friday, July 30. All of the events will be held at the church, Route 219 in East Sumner village. For more information and preregistration, call Bill or Linda at 388-2263.

Appraisal night

CASCO — The Raymond-Casco Historical Society Museum will host an appraisal night from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the museum, Route 302.

Harry Hepburn III of Heritage Antiques in Harrison will appraise antiques, collectibles and vintage treasures for $5 each item. Proceeds will benefit the Raymond-Casco Historical Society. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and homemade baked goods for sale. All are welcome. Support group

BRIDGTON — The Parkinson’s Information and Referral Center has announced a new support group serving Bridgton and the Lakes Region community. The support group is for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and their families. The first meeting will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 23, at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St.

Library program

MEXICO — As part of the “Terrific Tuesdays” summer program for kids, the Mexico Public Library will host a program at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27. There will be a special visit from Bananas the Clown and participants will make some carnival crafts.
