SOUTH PARIS — Homer C. Smith, 90, of Poland, died early Saturday morning at the Maine Veterans Home.
He was born in Woodstock on May 17, 1920, the son of Ernest and Susie Billings Smith and graduated from West Paris High School in the Class of 1938. Homer had been employed at Blake Hardware in Portland. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. Homer faithfully served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying 33 missions from China to India.
He is survived by his longtime friend, Barbara; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Norma and Thelma; and a brother, Howard.
