What an enlightening and informative letter from William R. Rice Jr. of Wilton (July 23) for letting the world know that the Gulf oil spill was the fault of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Halliburton.

I wonder if Rice is aware that the same unholy trio was also responsible for another oil spill when Jed Clampett was “… shootin’ at some food, when up through the ground came a bubblin’ crude.”

Rumor has it that the same bunch was responsible for the failure of the Edsel and the Susan B. Anthony dollar as well.

If the liberal mindset of blaming Bush for all the world’s ills had not become tiresome it would be laughable. I am too tired to laugh anymore. So are the majority of the American people. Perhaps we can all laugh again on Nov. 3.
