LONDON (AP) – Princes William, 26, and Harry, 24, said Tuesday they have been granted their own royal household by their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Household doesn’t mean a dwelling; it means staff who support royal family members in their public duties and private lives.
The two princes will share one household with three main staff members, supported by a small team. Sir David Manning, the former British ambassador to Washington, will work as a part-time adviser to the princes.
Rock danger ends landslide search
GUATEMALA CITY (AP) – Rescuers ended their search Tuesday for victims of a massive landslide that tore down a mountain and buried a northern Guatemalan highway, killing at least 35 people.
At least 50 are still missing, many of them laborers at nearby coffee plantations who skirted roadblocks erected after another deadly slide hit the same road two weeks ago. That avalanche killed two people.
Raining rock from the weakened mountain made it too dangerous to continue digging for people buried under thousands of tons of boulders and dirt, said Sergio Cabanas, the head of the government’s emergency response crew.

NEW YORK (AP) – The mysterious sweet smell is back!
The city received more than 30 calls in a few hours on Monday night, with callers reporting a maple syrup-like odor in the air. Most of the calls came from Manhattan.
The strange scent has been smelled before. It wafted through at least twice in 2005, with officials unable to pinpoint the source
