The W. G. Mallett School in Farmington along with some other Regional School Unit 9 schools are working on “Strive for 5,” an effort to raise awareness and improve attendance in school. Pictured are students from kindergarten, first and second grade who attained perfect attendance in the first quarter. Students and families can make a goal for fewer than five absences per year as research shows that missing days beyond that begins to more significantly impact learning.
