STATESVILLE, N.C. — Gary Guerin, 57, of 326 North Kelly St., passed away peacefully at his home in Statesville, N.C., on Sunday, Aug. 29.

He was born in Livermore Falls, June 10, 1953, to Elaine and Normand Guerin. Gary attended St. Rose in Jay through the eighth grade and graduated from Livermore Fall High School in 1971. Gary then moved to Boston, where he attended technical school for architectural drafting.

Upon graduating from drafting school, Gary returned to Livermore Falls and joined Chisholm Fruit. In 1977, Gary joined James River/Otis Mill, where he worked on the paper machines until 2004, rising to the position of paper machine tender. During this time, Gary lived on Free Street in Livermore Falls for 20 years.

In 2004, Gary moved to North Carolina, where his sister, Cynthia and her family lived. Gary was happiest when he was outdoors. His hobbies include fishing, gardening, coin collecting, and watching sports. His favorite fishing spot was Mt. Bigelow in Maine. Gary always enjoyed and loved his pets.

Whether in Statesville, N.C., or Jay, Gary always became a close friend and neighbor to those in the neighborhood where he lived.

He is survived by his two daughters, Mellissa Enain and her husband, Mohamed, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Megan Ouellette and her husband, Jeremy Ouellette, of Wilton; three grandchildren, Terek and Samir Enain of Oklahoma, and Elliana Ouellette of Wilton; his sister, Cynthia Wilkins and her husband, Craig Wilkins, of Apex, N.C.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Normand Guerin and Elaine (Hatch) Guerin, of Livermore Falls.
