DIXFIELD — Several people were nabbed during last week’s sobriety detail conducted by the Dixfield Police Department.
Chief Richard Pickett said a federal Bureau of Highway Safety grant allowed the department to assign several extra officers to the special detail held from 10 p.m. Aug. 20 through 2 a.m. Aug. 21.
Road blocks were set up at various times on Main Street and on Weld Street.
Among those summoned was Jacob E. Jackson, 18, of Carthage Road, Carthage, on a charge of possession of alcohol by consumption. He was picked up on Weld Street at 10:20 p.m.
Timothy M. Holland, 27, of Greenwoods Road, Peru, was stopped at 1:30 a.m. on Main Street. He was summoned for operating under the influence. His vehicle was towed and he was taken to the Rumford Police Department for processing.
Also during the special detail, Luchen J. Bowie, no age available, of Judkins Road, Carthage, was summoned at 10:30 p.m., on Weld Street for operating while his license was suspended, and having an open alcohol container in his vehicle.
All three men are scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Oct. 5.
