LIVERMORE FALLS — Samantha Greenwood took a Kim Theriault pass during a scramble in front of the net and scored with 12:10 left in the first half as Livermore Falls held on for a 1-0 victory over Mountain Valley (2-1) in a field hockey game Friday.
Livermore Falls goalie Calee Morris held off the Falcons, making four saves.
Despite a 12-5 advantage in penalty corners, the undefeated Andies (3-0) could not score on those opportunities, but made their 1-goal lead work for them.
St. Dom’s 4, Boothbay 4
AUBURN — Taylor Tarr and Marissa Zamrock scored two goals apiece as St. Dom’s played to a 4-4 double overtime tie.
The Saints (0-2-1) and Seahawks (0-2-1) battled fiercely through two scoreless overtimes. Goalies Madison McCarthy and Jenna Fongimie performed superbly, preventing the other team in each case from earning their first win.
Sarah Caron was the only double-goal scorer for the Boothbay.
Lauren Ratsep contributed three assists for St. Dom’s.
Jay 2, Dirigo 0
DIXFIELD — Jahna Couture scored a goal and added an assist to lead Jay to a 2-0 field hockey victory over Dirigo.
Following a scoreless first half, Couture scored an unassisted goal with 24:06 left in the game. Rachel Calden added an insurance tally with 1:47 remaining.
Ashley Quirrion made one save for the shutout, while Betsy Noyes stopped 10 shots for Dirigo.
Girls’ soccer
Medomak 2, Oak Hill 1
WALDOBORO — Maria Ennamoratti scored both goals in the second half as Medomak Valley (1-1) slipped away from stubborn Oak Hil (1-2) with a 2-1 victory in a girls’ soccer game Friday afternoon.
The teams played through as scoreless first half before Ennamoratti dropped both of Medomak’s goals in the net.
The Raiders got on the board with 10 minutes left in the game when Abby Goulet scored on a feed from Becca Belaire.
Winslow 4, Mt. View 0
WINSLOW — Winslow rattled off three goals in the second half and glided off with a 4-0 victory over winless Mt. View (0-3) in a girls’ soccer Friday.
Sarah Fowler, Emily Farrell, Julie Riordan and Alliyah Veilleux each contributed a goal.
The undefeated Black Raiders (3-0) took a 1-0 lead in the first half before demonstrating their offensive prowlessness in the second. Winslow outshot the Mustangs, 30-2.
Mt. Blue 3, Bangor 3
FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue wouldn’t allow Bangor’s three quick goals in the first half keep the Cougars in a hole. Mt. Blue rallied with two goals in the second half as the teams battled through double overtime before settling for a 3-3 tie.
The Cougars got on the board first when Marlie Mochamer scored one of two goals with help from Rachel Karno with 15:27 left in the first half.
But the Bangor jumped right back at Mt. Blue when Kim Jordan scored a pair of goals and June Candland added another to make it 3-1.
Not to be outdone, the Cougars’ Mochamer took another feed from Karno and scored. Chelsea Newhall punched in the tying goal on an Abby Flanagan assist with 10 minutes left in the game for Mt. Blue.
Cony 4, Oxford Hills 2
PARIS — Josie Lee scored all four of Cony’s goals as the Rams charged to a 4-2 victory over Oxford Hills.
The Vikings (0-3) took an early 1-0 lead when junior striker Danielle Allen converted a cross from junior striker Kiersten Zufelt, and again, took a 2-1 before the midpoint on an unassisted goalf from Zufelt.
Lee sponsored three unanswered goals in the second frame for the Rams.
Goalie Samantha Hatch made 13 saves for Oxford Hills, while Melanie Guzman prevented three to earn the win for Cony.
Leavitt 4, Lincoln 0
NEWCASTLE — Midfielder Tori Zupancic scored 46 seconds into the contest to lead Leavitt to a 4-0 victory over Lincoln.
Mariah Treadwell collected two goals for the Hornets (3-0).
Shannon Clarke performed superbly on defense for the Hornets, preserving the shutout with key plays.
Goalie Emma Lazzari made 12 saves for the Eagles (0-2-1), while Kelly Pomerleau turned away five shots for Leavitt.
Boys’ soccer
Oak Hill 3,
Medomak Valley 0
WALES — Senior Tyler Pelletier turned away 16 shots with help from his defense as Oak Hill shut out Medomak Valley 3-0 in boys soccer acction.
Dalton Burns opened the scoring with a goal assisted by Ben Daggett. Jamiel Kidd added an unassisted goal giving the Raiders (2-1) a 2-0 halftime lead. Kidd added a second half goal assisted by Adam Beaulieu to top off the scoring.
Ryan Griffen made 18 saves in the loss for the Panthers (0-2).
Wiscasset 3, Lisbon 0
WISCASSET — Three different scorers punched in goals as Wiscasset blanks Lisbon 3-0 in a MVC boys soccer clash.
Eddie Stewart scored the first goal early in the first half assisted by Devin Grover. James Andretta followed 10 minutes later with a score off a corner kick assisted by Ross Hanely and Stewart for the 2-0 halftime lead.
Danny Murphy rounded out the scoring attack with a header off a corner from John McLeod for the Redskins. Lisbon goalie Shane Tanguay stopped 11 shots in the loss while Mason Brewer saved the one shot he faced for Wiscasset.
Oxford Hills 3, Cony 0
AUGUSTA — Senior Collin Tucker found the back of the net twice to lead Oxford Hills to a 3-0 victory over Cony in boys soccer.
Tied 0-0 at halftime, Derek Morin assisted Tucker early in the second half to put the Vikings (1-2) on the board. Tucker then followed with a score assisted by Tyler Truman. Austin Chute finished the scoring bending a corner kick from the left side of the field making it 3-0. Oxford Hills outshot Cony 28-6 in the match.
Matt McVety stopped four shots for Oxford Hills while Dan Courverette turned away 24 shots for the Rams (0-2-1) in the loss.
Livermore Falls 6, Jay 0
JAY — Henry Seideler scored on a penalty kick 18 minutes into the game giving Livermore Falls the only score they would need. Seideler would add five more for extra measure leading the Andies to a 6-0 shutout of Jay in a MVC boys soccer clash.
Seideler tallied four first half goals and added a pair in the second half for Livermore Falls (1-2). Ethan Hutchinson stopped seven shots in the victory. Dustin Jones turned away 11 for Jay (0-2).
Lincoln 3, Leavitt 1
TURNER — Lincoln Academy scored a pair of goals 34 seconds apart about midway into the second half lifting them to a 3-1 victory over Leavitt.
With the score tied at zero, Brandon Bonney picked up a rebound and punched it past starting goalie Korey Mulherin for the first score of the game. Seconds later, Kyle O’Brien added another score for the Eagles making it 2-0. With 10 minutes remaining in the game, the Hornets mixed things up by putting Tyler Allen in goal. With four minutes remaining, Mulherin was fouled inside the box giving him a penalty shot that was saved by goal keeper Kyle Scherer. A line violation allowed Mulherin another attempt which he took advantage of cutting the deficit to 2-1.
Leavitt would not catch the Eagles and a late goal by Jeff Cheney as time expired capped off the win. Mulherin and Allen would combine for three saves in net while Scherer stopped four in the victory.
Greenville 7, Buckfield 2
BUCKFIELD — Tony DiAngelo collected a hat trick and earned an assist and teammate Tristin Richards added two goals and an assist as Greenville walked off with a 7-2 victory over Buckfield (1-2).
Greenville (2-0-1) grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first half and dropped in four more goals in the second, with Dylan Bouchard and Cole Aucoin each adding a goal.
In the second half, Austin Dooley and Allen Hendrick teamed up, with Dooley scoring both of the Bucks’ goals. Hendrick was credited with two assists.
Mt. Ararat 3, EL 1
AUBURN — Mt. Ararat scored two quick goals in the first half and added another in the second to dismiss Edward Little with a 3-1 victory in a boys’ soccer game Friday.
David Rou and Alden Talbot scored both goals for the Eagles (1-0-2). But the Red Eddies responded when Tim Mains slipped a goal past Mt. Ararat goalie Gabe Pelletier.
Pelletier, however, kept the Red Eddies (2-1) off the scoreboard in the second half, making two saves.
Telstar 4, Mtn. Valley 1
BETHEL — Senior guard Daniel Vaughn executed a pair of goals to lead Telstar to a 4-1 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.
Nik Conrad pitched in with a goal and two assists, while Michael DelDuca added a tally for the Rebels.
Goalie Rick James earned the win in net for Telstar.
Dirigo 5, Carrabec 0
DIXFIELD — Sophomore forward Hunter Ross scored a hat trick to lead Dirigo to a 5-0 shutout over Carrabec.
The Cougars (2-1) executed a solid team effort to dominate the offense.
Goalie Brandon Leltay made 15 saves for the Cobras (1-2), while Caleb Turner earned the win in net for Dirigo with two saves.
Waterville 5, Brewer 0
BREWER — Wilson Guthro scored the eventual game-winner on the first goal of the game as Waterville cruised to a 5-0 triumph over Brewer in KVAC boys’ scocer action Friday afternoon.
Brothers Eric and Tommy Samson pitched in with a goal apiece for the Panthers, while David Cook and Alex Rowe rounded out the scoring.
The Witches (1-2) kept pace throughout the lions share of the game, but lost their quickness down the stretch. Brewer scored all five of their goals in the second half.
