Educators to meet

RANGELEY — Franklin County Retired Educators will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the Church of The Good Shepherd. There will be a program followed by a meeting and lunch.

Society meeting

OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Kaye House Museum on King Street. Mr. Fredrik from Starks will present a program on local corn shop and canning factories also know as “Canning Gold.”

The program will be first followed by a short business meeting and refreshments.

Toy run

FARMINGTON — The Whistle Stop Trail 12th annual ATV Toy Run will be held Saturday, Sept. 25 and the Comfort Inn and Suites of Farmington-Wilton has been designated a drop-off locations for toys. Area businesses and residents may help the hotel fill a trailer with new toys that will be donated to Western Maine Community Action for children in need.

Toys can be brought to the lobby of the hotel Monday to Saturday, Sept. 20 to 25.

Rehearsals

SOUTH PARIS — Rehearsals for the Christmas for Teens benefit show will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 28. The show is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 3.

Rehearsals will be in the Music Room at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and are open to students in grades six through 12 and adults. The show will also include guest performances by the Downeasters.

Legion dance

NORWAY — A dance and karaoke will be held at American Legion Post 82 from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, with professional DJs The Old Crows. Food will be available. The cost is $6.

Takeout dinner

SOUTH PARIS — The Western Maine Harness Horsemens Association will hold a takeout lasagna dinner on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Floyd Harlow VFW. The meal will include lasagna, garlic bread and salad for $7. A family meal deal will include four servings of lasagna, bread and salad and one-liter of cola for $20.

Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and delivery is available for $2 per address if within a five mile radius of the VFW. Homemade whoopie pies will be available for $1.50 each. To place an order, call 890-9822 between 4:30 and 6:15 p.m. on the day of the dinner.

RUMFORD — Widow Or Widowers Sharing will begin another year of meetings at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Senior Citizens Hall, 50 Congress St.

Matt Peters and friends will speak on their trip to Boryeond, Korea this summer. All area widow or widowers are welcome to join the social get together. Dues are $10 for the year. For more information, call Barbara Morse at 562-4225.

Class lunch

HANOVER — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the summer home of Harry and Fran Burns, Howard Pond.

Attendees should bring a lunch and a lawn chair.
