TURNER — Seven high school bands from across southern Maine will take to the field at Leavitt Area High School on Saturday, Sept. 25, in a demonstration of musical showmanship, open to the public. The marching band show will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature bands from the following high schools: Westbrook, Edward Little, Lawrence, Marshwood, Wells, Old Orchard Beach and Leavitt. Each band’s performance will be adjudicated by a slate of eight judges who will rate the band on a five-point scale. Scores will be announced at the conclusion of the show. The score card and comments will then be used by each band to improve over the course of the season, which culminates in a final show on Oct. 30 in Portsmouth, N.H.
