DOVER, N.J. — Hazel Meade Rathbun, 90, of Regency Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dover, N.J., and Mt. Arlington, died Sunday, Sept. 19.
She was born July 24, 1920, to Louise and Charles Meade in Greene. She lived in Litchfield before relocating to Mt. Arlington in 1961. Hazel was a member of the Eastern Star, Litchfield Grange and the Red Hat Society. She recently retired from Holiday Inn Express at the age of 88.
She is survived by six children, Connie and her husband, Ronnie, of Litchfield, Marilyn and her husband, John Good, of Morgantown, Pa., Madelyn Walrod of Mt. Arlington, Susan Smith and her partner, Wilbur Bacheldor of Sun Valley, Pa., Bill and his wife, Brenda, of Calabash, N.C., and Bentley of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Russell Meade of Massachusetts, Harold Meade of Bridgton and Arland Meade of Bartow, Fla.; and one sister, Aletha Blackmore of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thatcher Rathbun; a sister, Laura Hodgkin; her parents, Charles and Louise Meade; and a grandson, Forrest Green.
