LEWISTON — Scotland’s hot traditional band Outside Track will perform Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Franco-American Heritage Center. The band, known for its blend of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music and song, will also play Monday, Oct. 4, at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts; and Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center in Carthage.

Hailing from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Vancouver, the five band members play fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar and flute in their energetic performances that also feature vocals and step dance.

They are Norah Rendell, who was awarded a grant from the Canada Council for Performing Arts to travel to Ireland to study traditional flute and singing; Kimberley Fraser, who has shared the stage with such Celtic greats as Alasdair Fraser and Lunasa; and Ailie Robertson, widely regarded as one of Scotland’s leading young traditional musicians

Also, Fiona Black, a skilled accordionist with experience arranging, performing, composing and recording; and Cillian O’Dalaigh, who has toured extensively in Ireland, Germany, France and the United Kingdom as a guitarist and a flute player.

Curtain is at 7 p.m. at FAHC and Skye, and 7:30 p.m. in Unity. There will be a preshow jam session 45 minutes prior to curtain at all three venues.
