In 2002, Maine folks voted to send Mike Michaud, a hard-working, lunch-pail-carrying, paper-mill laborer to Washington, D.C., as their U.S. Representative to Congress, not realizing the strong advocate for veterans’ affairs that he would become.
Since being sworn into Congress, Michaud worked to increase the Veterans Administration’s budget to ensure resources are available for VA operations in Maine. Recent improvements to services and outreach to veterans are the direct result of his stand with Maine veterans to push for change.
Michaud is chairman of the Health Subcommittee of House Veteran’s Affairs Committee. He has made helping Maine veterans a top priority during his terms in Congress.
Michaud is one of us. I hope all Second District voters will join me and vote on Nov. 2 to return Congressman Mike Michaud to Washington to continue working for veterans and all Maine citizens.
