LEWISTON — Larry A. Anctil, 76, of Lewiston, died Monday, Sept. 27, at home and in the arms of his loving wife.

Larry was born on May 24, 1934, the son of Armand and Jeanne (Chamberland) Anctil. He attended Holy Family School and graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School in 1952.

Larry proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a radio/radar instructor and interpreter from 1953 to 1957. He married Phyllis M. Ouellette on Oct. 4, 1958, and was the beloved father of three children. Larry was an active member and two-time president of the Lewiston-Auburn Jaycees in the late 1960s. Larry’s professional career in the photofinishing industry began at Direct Film in Lewiston. He worked at the company’s headquarters in Montreal, and later opened a successful new processing facility in Toronto. In retirement, Larry moved back to Maine to be close to his family and friends, whom he cherished deeply. At various times, Larry enjoyed candle-making, stained glass art, painting, golfing and gourmet cooking.

Larry is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Diane Spink and husband, Richard, of Gorham, Denise McLaughlin and husband, Derek, of Toronto, and Daniel Anctil and wife, Nancy, of Livermore. He was the devoted grandfather of Michael and Brandon Anctil, and Amanda Spink. Larry will be sadly missed by his brother, Roger Anctil and wife, Jeanne, his brother, Normand Anctil and wife, Claire, and his sister, Paulette Anctil, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
