RUMFORD — Jacqueline J. Cote of Rumford is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Charlene M. Leavitt, to David P. Nelson, son of Don and Mary Nelson of Farmington.

The future bride is a 1996 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in criminology. She is currently employed with the MEARNG as a federal employee in Augusta and the Army National Guard Reserves.

The future bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Mt. Blue High School and is currently employed at Verso Paper in Jay and the Army Reserves.

The couple is planning a wedding in August of 2011 in Maine.
