‘Pink Party’

AUBURN — The Maine Squeeze, which includes local women Liz Lachapelle, Sara Preble, Kim Preble and Carrie Mc Ferren, will host a “Pink Party” fundraiser at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Center Street. Those attending should wear something pink.

Funds raised will benefit the team as the participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day For the Cure in Washington, D.C. There will be karaoke, games and raffle prizes, including flight lessons, ski life tickets, skydiving, spa gift certificates, and more.

Sodality

LEWISTON — The monthly meeting of the Prince of Peace Rosary Sodality will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, in the Holy Cross Seniors hall, starting with recitation of the rosary. A speaker from Med Life will be followed by a business meeting and refreshments.

Grange meeting

POLAND — Members of Excelsior Grange 5 will meet Saturday, Oct. 2, at the hall located at 446 Harris Hill Road. Legislative Night will be observed.

All are invited to attend and learn what will be on the legislature’s docket when it next convenes in Augusta. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Grant workshop

LEWISTON — The National Endowment for the Arts will conduct a grant workshop from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.

Mike Griffin from the National Endowment for the Arts will present information regarding NEA funding opportunities for arts organizations and other nonprofits. The event will highlight the NEA’s processes for grant applications and their subsequent review.
