On Saturday, Oct. 9, the Franco-American Heritage Center will be transformed into a medieval courtyard filled with knights, squires, minstrels and wenches all costumed participants in the center’s third annual Medieval Feast. The meal, to be consumed by guests sans utensils, will include carrot cream soup, a sausage and beef turnover, romaine lettuce with dipping sauce, pork spare ribs and chicken, and hermit cookies. Alcoholic beverages will be served. Besides the five-course meal, there will be pageantry and competition, with Medieval Players entertaining the king and queen and guests. The night of merriment will begin at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 5:30 p.m., when squires will open the castle “gates.” For tickets, $35, call 689-2000 or visit www.francoamericanheritage.org.
