MIAMI (AP) – Tropical Storm Kyle is rumbling over the open Atlantic southwest of Bermuda and could become a hurricane far out to sea as it heads north.

The National Hurricane Center said Friday that Kyle has top sustained winds near 60 mph. Its tropical storm force winds extend up to 205 miles from the center.

Forecasters say the storm could become a hurricane by Saturday night.

A tropical storm warning has been issued for Bermuda.

At 5 p.m. Eastern time, Kyle was centered about 400 miles southwest of Bermuda and moving north-northwest near 13 mph.

On that track, the storm’s center and worst winds should pass west of Bermuda.

Kyle is the 11th named storm this season in the Atlantic.
