AUBURN — Robert C. Moore, 74, of Mexico, died Oct. 4, while fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Rumford, April 18, 1936, the son of Lloyd and Yvette Moore. He grew up in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School. He was employed by the New Page Paper Co. in Rumford for more than 40 years. He attended St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico and The Holy Savior Church in Rumford. He married Nila L. Collins on May 28, 1955.
Bob enjoyed being with his children, traveling, gardening, watching his grandchildren play baseball, softball and skiing. He also liked to watch NASCAR racing. He especially looked forward to heading south to Florida, and the Carolinas to avoid the Maine winters.
He is survived by his daughter, Loreen Y. Moore and her companion, John Luce, of Rumford; son, Dennis C. Moore and wife, Lisa, of Mexico; sister, Leah Morton and husband, Donald, of Rangeley; grandchildren, Chelsea Luce of Rumford, Erica L. Robin and her husband, Brandon, of Rumford, Corey S. Moore of Saco and Shelby N. Moore of Mexico; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Konnor Robin of Rumford; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Nila Moore in 2009; his father, Lloyd Moore; and his mother, Yvette Moore.
The Moore family would like to thank Dr. Erickson, Dr. Austin and all the nurses and staff at the Hospice House in Auburn, Dr. Ledesma, Rumford Hospital, Central Maine Medical Center and Maine Medical Center, for all the care and thoughtfulness they provided during the time he spent with them. We would especially like to thank Med-Care Ambulance for always being there when we needed them.
