WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Jean F. Allen, 81, passed quietly at home with her family on Oct. 7. She had lived in her West Hartford home for more than 50 years.

Jean was raised in Auburn, the only daughter of Bernard and Celia French. She attended Nasson College and married David Charles Allen, also of Lewiston-Auburn in 1950.

She is survived by her three children, Judy Allen of West Hartford, Edward Allen and wife, Susan, of Canton, Conn., and Chuck Allen and his wife, Julie, of Tallahassee, Fla.; Jean had two delightful grandchildren, Sarah, 15, and Nicholas, 12.

Her husband David predeceased her in 2006.
