LOVELL — Faith Community Church has announced a “Christ in the Passover” presentation at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the church, 213 Old Stage Road. The presentation will be given by Andrew Barron, a speaker with the ministry Jews for Jesus. All are welcome.
The presentation will demonstrate how the traditional Passover service spoken of in the Old Testament foreshadowed Jesus’ death and resurrection. Barron will set a table with items traditionally used at the Passover meal and detail their spiritual significance.
Barron was a science student whose studies in astronomy caused him to wonder about the vastness and complexity of the universe. In 1981, while helping to design and plan space shuttle missions for the United States Space Program, he came across a gospel pamphlet from Jews for Jesus and wrote a letter to the ministry and met with a member of the staff.
He has served with the Boston and Los Angeles branches of Jews for Jesus, pioneered the work of Jews for Jesus in South Africa and is currently the director for the ministry in Canada.
There is no cost for admission to the event. There will be a free-will offering for any desiring to help support the ministry. For more information, contact Pastor Heath Roberts at 449-3285 or e-mail [email protected].
