Sen. John Nutting has represented the citizens of District 17 exceptionally well as our senator.
While I have not agreed with every vote he has cast, I know he has acted out of strong moral convictions to do what is best for the citizens of District 17.
Working across party lines within the Rural Caucus, he forced a change to the school consolidation law that prevented every school district/union within District 17 from having to merge with another. His effort to force the change of one single word within the law made all the difference in how our schools are organized. Union 44, Lisbon and SAD 52 were not required to consolidate into new geographically large and ungovernable regional school units.
I thank Sen. John Nutting for being an outstanding public servant. I will be voting to re-elect him and hope others will join me in that effort.
