Libby Mitchell is the problem. For 35 years she has worked with Democrats to make Maine one of the highest-taxed, least-attractive states for business. Welfare has skyrocketed and education is languishing.

The Sun Journal quoted her on Oct. 17 as saying offshore wind power is “the equivalent of 40 nuclear power plants.” A nuclear plant produces 1,000 megawatts. A wind turbine produces 2 megawatts. It would take 20,000 wind turbines to equal 40 nuclear plants. This means there would be seven turbines on every mile of our beautiful coastline.

I believe wind and nuclear power both should be in our future.

I am sick about politicians such as Mitchell making completely outrageous, distorted statements that have no basis in fact. A vote for her is a vote for more of the same drivel Maine residents have been getting from Augusta for years.
