A B-B gun raider has peppered windows in at least nine business establishments on Main Street in Lewiston, causing damages estimated unofficially at $1,500.

The B-B gun “bandit,” apparently working from a car during the early-morning hours Friday, shot with the air rifle from 288 Main St. all along the way to the North Bridge. At some establishments, more than one window was hit.

In most of the cases, the windows damaged by the pellets were large display windows which will be costly to replace, police said.

Over 100 stones of varying sizes and descriptions were overturned and/or broken into pieces, according to Carey.
