100 years ago,1910

The M. and M. Trapping and Fur Club returned Saturday from an expedition to Tacoma Lake. They brought with them two mink skins, about a dozen muskrats, a coon, several skunks, one white house cat, and besides this, saw one partridge. They had in all 24 traps set, and were gone one week.

50 years ago, 1960

The installation of officers for La Ligue Des Societes De Langue Francaise will be held at Jacques Cartier Chestnut Hall at 7:30 Sunday night.

Merit certificates will be presented to those who have worked hard to make the Ligue a success.

Members and guests will be coming from Augusta, Brunswick, Biddeford, Sanford and Westbrook.

25 years ago, 1985

The Auburn School Committee Wednesday narrowed down to three a list of possible solutions to Auburn’s elementary-school overcrowding problems.

Committee members directed Superintendent of Schools Roy D. Loux to provide them with more information about the following three options: renting portable classrooms, forming multigraded classrooms where needed, and making East Auburn School a grades K-3 school and housing grade 4 to 6 students from that school at Webster School.
