LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met on Nov. 8 at Murray Hall with 29 members and guest Wally Tripp present.

The group celebrated all the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces and Chairwoman Shirley Couture read an article titled “America.” She recognized all the veterans who belong to the group and made mention of the veterans who stand at Chisholm Square every Monday morning in all kinds of weather. 

George Doiron sang “God Bless America” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

The group will celebrate Thanksgiving with a meal served at noon Monday, Nov. 15. Finger rolls will be served as well as other food supplied by the membership.

Lucille Frechette is still on the sick list. A birthday card for Lois Gordon in honor of her 91st birthday was signed by all present. A card was also presented to George Doiron for his 80th birthday.

Marilyn DeSoto won the 50/50. A Chinese auction was held following the meeting. A cake made by Nancy Couture in observance of Veterans Day was served. Socializing followed after the refreshments with games and cards.  

The Christmas party will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, with a catered meal and entertainment.

Anyone who is 50 or over who would like to come and socialize with the group every Monday is welcome to join.
