Hundreds of Bates College students walked out onto frozen Lake Andrews and jumped through a large square cut through eight inches of ice Friday during the annual Puddle Jump at the Lewiston campus. Members of the Bates Outing Club host the event every year during the weeklong Winter Carnival.
