EDGECOMB — Teens To Trails has announced an opportunity for Maine high school outing clubs to receive funding and gear through its “Grants-to-Clubs” program.

The program is open to any high school outing club in Maine.

Through the Grants-to-Clubs program, outing clubs will receive needed gear such as backpacks or snowshoes, as well as funds to help with transportation or safety and skills training for leaders.

Fifteen clubs received funding last year, including Lisbon High School, which used the funds for a camp stove and transportation costs.

Applications are due by Dec. 1, and recipients will be announced by Jan. 15, 2011. Complete application guidelines are available online at www.teenstotrails.org/grants_to_clubs.html.
