OXFORD — Ernest E. Lorenzen, 74, of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 20, at his residence, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., July 13, 1926, the son of Christian and Marion (Nudd) Lorenzen. He married Viola March on Nov. 26, 1958. Mr. Lorenzen was a graduate of Lynn High School. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he received numerous awards. He flew from three different aircraft carriers as an aerial gunner.
After the Navy, he joined the Lynn, Mass., Police Department, serving there for more than 30 years. Upon retiring from the Lynn Police Department, he moved to Maine and joined the Oxford County Sheriff Department as a corrections officer.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of Oxford; two daughters, Kim Lorna and Sheila; two sons, Roland and Edward; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Fallansbee.
He was predeceased by a son, Billy; and a daughter, Vivian.
