TAMPA, Fla. — Richard R. Lavoie, 72, of Dunedin, Fla., a former Auburn resident died Nov. 17, at Tampa General Hospital after a period of failing health.
He was born in Madawaska, Oct. 22, 1938, the son of the late Clovis and Palmire (Ouellette) Lavoie. He was educated in Lewiston schools. He worked many years as a millwright for the Local 407 before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman including boating, fishing, kayaking and a great love of the sea.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Murray and her partner, Alison Gwyther, of Auburn; two brothers, Ernest Lavoie of Lewiston and Maurice Lavoie and his wife, Jacqueline, of Oklahoma; twin granddaughters, Calli and Molly Murray of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Doyon and Millie Kelley; and a brother, Aldric Lavoie.
