AUGUSTA — Tom Saviello met Tyler Dunn last year when he was 9. Tyler was at the State Capitol’s Hall of Flags where his grandfather, Jon Ljunggren, was being honored for a picture he had taken for depicting volunteerism in Maine.
Saviello congratulated Ljunggren and turned and asked Tyler if he would like a tour of the State House and the Senate Chambers.
Tyler and Saviello became fast friends, and Tyler went to the parades and waved a “Vote for Saviello” poster along with Mr. Moose. The friendship grew, and Tyler was asked to stand with Saviello as he was sworn in. When Saviello asked him to hold the family Bible, Tyler considered it a big honor.
