LEWISTON — The number of people who applied to the Twin Cities’ first-ever, lucrative entrepreneur contest won’t be clear for another month.

The deadline has been pushed from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1.

Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council spokesman Paul Badeau said Thursday that some blogs and online stories about Launch L-A 2010 had wrongly given a Jan. 1 deadline, creating confusion.

Launch L-A was designed to entice a young entrepreneur to move back to the area and launch his or her next big business idea with a prize package of local services and seed money in excess of $80,000.

The public is expected to vote on the finalists.
