AUBURN — Violet M. Frechette, 79, a resident of Marcello Street in Jay, passed away surrounded by her family early Thursday, Dec. 2, at Hospice House of Androscoggin.

She was born April 21, 1931, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Albert and Yvonne (Lebrasseur) Poulin. Violet was a 1949 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

On Nov. 5, 1949 at St. Rose of Lima Church, she married her husband of 61 years, Napoleon Frechette. Violet was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and spent her years caring for her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, spending time at their camp on Long Pond and working in her flower gardens.

Violet was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Napoleon “Mimi” Frechette of Jay; six daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Ronald Gregoire of Chesterville, Ann and Rick Barnett of Livermore Falls, Vicki and Steve Bickford of Harpswell, Laurie and Ken Jones of Meredith, N.H., Lisa and Richard Simoneau of Jay, and Sharon and Randy Chicoine of Turner; her son and his wife, Mark and Tammy Frechette of Chesterville; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Folkes and her husband, William, of Texas, Irene Fournier of Jay and Lucille Desjardins and her husband, Clement, of Livermore.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Jane; three grandchildren; brothers, Ernest and Raymond Poulin; and her sister, Elaine Sturtevant.
