LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women, a local drop-in center for women, formerly known as Wisdom’s Center, recently received a $2,800 Christmas donation from Concordia Partners LLC.
The gift is part of the company’s annual Christmas giving program, in which agencies that serve women or children, are nominated by employees to receive a gift. This year $20,000 was distributed to seven area agencies. Elizabeth Platt, managing editor, nominated the Center for Wisdom’s Women and presented the check, which can be used toward general operating costs.
Center board member Pam Beliveau said, “This center is the heartbeat of the neighborhood for so many women. I am inspired by them as they build a community of support and encouragement, especially in these difficult economic times coming into the winter season. Concordia Partners has recognized the Center’s vital role to women in the area, and we gratefully receive their generous gift that will help to continue the good and important work of the Center for Wisdom’s Women.”
Concordia Partners manages the Web site www.womentowomen.com and the Women to Women’s Personal Program, an alternative approach to hormonal balance based on the clinical work at the Women to Women Healthcare Clinic in Yarmouth.
The Center for Wisdom’s Women is a sacred and safe place that supports and empowers women. Through support groups, activities and programs, women have the chance to meet and network with others.
