LEWISTON — The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society has announced that with the help of a recent donation, Androscoggin County residents can have their female pit bulls spayed for $25.

The donation was designated specifically for the spaying 20 female pit bulls. The $25 fee also includes a rabies vaccination. Dog owners must show proof of state assistance, a photo ID and pay the $25 fee at the time the appointment is made.

Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, pit bull owners can call the shelter at 783-2311.
